Don't Be Afraid Of Last Year's Model 

A lot of people are all about getting the newest car available, but this isn't always the best option. A lot of the time there aren't that many differences between this year's and last year's model, except for a much cheaper price. Knowing that you can save a great deal of money, while still getting an amazing car, is a win-win situation. You could also save even more money on last year's model if it is slightly used, simply because you aren't paying the "new" price. 

Don't Buy The First Car You Like 

You may really like the first car that you see and drive around at the dealership; however, this doesn't mean that you should buy it. It is important that you try out other cars at the dealership to see if there are others that you like just as much, if not more than the first one you saw. In a lot of cases, the cars that you try out will just keep getting better and better. Once you have found a car that you feel is the one for you, it may still be a good idea to sleep on it, just to make sure. 

Leave A Detailed List With The Salesperson

If you don't find the car that you want on the day that you go to the dealership, this doesn't mean that you won't find it. You can leave all of the information about what kind of car you'd like with the car salesperson, and they can search surrounding dealerships to see if there is a car that meets your needs. If there isn't, they will keep your information on hand and let you know as soon as a car does come in that meets your needs. The more detailed this list is, the better off you will be. It is also comforting to know that someone who knows a great deal about cars is actively looking for a car for you.

When buying a car from a car dealership, don't be afraid to purchase last year's model, don't buy the first car that you like because there may be other great cars out there, and leave a detailed list with the salesperson of what kind of car you'd like, if you don't find a car on the first day you look.
